Willyne Hammerstein is a master of English Paper Piecing and we've done her La Passacaglia in the past. It was a HUGE success, so of course, we jumped right into another of her brilliant patterns. This time we chose Jouer a Cache-Cache from Millefiori 5 which roughly translated is Hide and Seek. Perfectly named as this mystery-style BOM will be filled with fussy cutting!

Why Hide & Seek?

After the conclusion of our La Passacaglia Block of the Month, we took a little break to recoup and figure out our next BOM program. That quilt pattern was so popular and requested that it was a no-brainer. Our next project, wasn't as easy to decide on! Willyne Hammerstein has written MANY successful and gorgeous english paper piecing patterns and Jouer a Cache-Cache stood out to us amongst many other wonderful designs from her unreleased Millefiori 5 book. Translated, Jouer a Cache-Cache means Play Hide and Seek, which is so fitting for the fussy cutting we'll be doing for this quilt! Our plan is to take the original, and reimagine it to make it a little more approachable, attainable, and sew it together, Pink Door style! This version will be larger than the original, which makes the pieces a little easier to work with, and even a beginner can tackle this English Paper Piecing project! Our kit will be done exclusively in Tula Pink fabrics in a rainbow ombré effect and finishes at approximately 89-1/2" x 120"! Additionally, the beauty of this BOM is that as new Tula Pink collections release, we’ll be incorporating them into the quilt, so it’s an evolving sampling of all her awesome fabrics. What is included? What else do I need?

This BOM like all of our BOM's, is fabric only. That means that you will need to purchase the following items to complete this quilt and these are required to participate in the BOM.

While it might seem like this BOM is a bit higher in cost than our previous ones, it is because this quilt is so fussy-cutting intensive. Tula’s fabrics are PERFECT for this, but it does create the need for additional yardage to create the amazing kaleidoscope effect. We want to make sure you’re successful with your experience, so we tend to estimate on the generous side to account for any mistakes. As those who have done blocks of the month with us before can attest, we aim to go above and beyond to make them amazing. You will have plenty of scraps leftover for another amazing project!

How does this BOM work?

Each month, you will be billed $54.50 + shipping unless you'd like to add thread to your subscription. The cost with thread is $66.50 per month and will include 2 spools of Aurifil 50wt thread. Shipping is extra; see Shipping Info section below.

Where do I get the pattern?

You can purchase the pattern here.

This pattern and BOM will not be available until July 2024 but we will begin billing and shipping in July 2024.The BOM will last 18 months, ending in December 2025.

When do signups close? When does this BOM begin?

Signups for this BOM will be open through July 15th, 2024, and then we will have limited spots thereafter. We recommend signing up early! The BOM will begin in Late July of 2024, shipping monthly for 18 months.

What is the registration fee?

This fee is $85 and is required to sign up for the Hide and Seek Block of the Month. This fee helps us create the cutting assistants you receive, moderating of the Facebook group, video tutorials, and more.

SHIPPING INFO

Shipping costs will be based on weight for current USPS/USPS Mail Innovations rates to your location. The shipping rates will be billed monthly, even if not shipped monthly as the amount of fabric sent requires heavier shipping rates. Generally these are $7-10 for US Domestic, $11-13 for INTL and can be subject to change based on current rates. Shipping rates are not guaranteed and can change without notice. For example, some months weigh more than others and therefore will cost a bit more to ship. Rest assured, we always ship as economically as possible.

UPDATE 8.6.24 - We now offer DHL INTL for our international customers; this price is $23.95/month but includes 3-5 day delivery, signature, and complete tracking.

A Few NOTEs

  • This is a HAND-SEWN quilt using English Paper Piecing.
  • Once signups close, we are UNABLE TO ADD/DELETE/CHANGE ANY SUBSCRIPTIONS. Cancellations are not permitted after enrollment as items are ordered based on your enrollment. No refunds will be issued at any time. If you already subscribe to our BOM's, we cannot combine shipments.
  • Due to ongoing supply chain issues, the start date may be pushed back if necessary to accommodate these delays; we will reach out via email if there are any updates/concerns. We reserve the right to increase/decrease shipping and fabric costs as required. Costs are ever-changing in this post-COVID time and costs can fluctuate. We will provide notice if pricing changes more than 10%.
